The Minister of Education, Prof. Dr. Azmy Mohafaza, who signed the agreement, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Ministry for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Najwa Qubeilat, said that we in the ministry are pleased to be part of the contribution to the establishment of projects that contribute to raising the efficiency of administrative procedures. Dr. Azmy Muhafaza explained that this project seeks to develop the inventory management at the ministry in accordance with the best international practices, which is what the ministry seeks to do in automating projects and raising efficiency in all departments. Mr. Ahmed Al-Tarawneh, Chairman of the Board of Directors, stated that the Jordanian Numbering Assocation is fully prepared to cooperate with the Ministry of Education to provide and build a tracking system for school books in accordance with the international GS1 standards, which ensures an increase in the efficiency of the supply chain between all concerned parties, enabling them to share their data in an accurate, reliable, and approved way. It contributes to reducing the distances between business partners, improves performance, and increases the health and safety of the procedures followed in accordance with the best international practices. Al-Tarawneh stressed that building this system according to GS1 standards and its application can be considered as a success story at the local level, with the possibility of applying it on a wider scale than the official authorities locally, especially since these standards are applicable due to their suitability with any other technical systems. Mrs. Hanadi Al-Nabulsi indicated the necessity of implementing these projects that help in raising the level of transparency and saving in the consumption of resources and expenditures at the ministry level. It is mentioned that the project will apply the barcoding system for textbooks to track the stages of receiving, storing and distributing textbooks, so that books, warehouses, schools and supplier sites will be encoded and defined, and thus the system will be able to identify the required elements and read events in real time, through the application of international coding standards (GS1 Standard), which will cover the scope of the project and all stages of procurement operations (starting from purchase requisitions, bidding conditions and purchase orders, all the way to the main or subsidiary warehouses, tracking their movements and optimal inventory management until they are in the hands of the requester).
